The narrative of our film follows a circular structure. It begins with a long shot of a closed door. Diegetic off screen sounds of someone being tortured can be heard however this will not be seen and thus result in an enigma being created. The shot will then pan to a group of girls packaging drugs on a work surface. We will then show an extreme close up of one of the workers packing the drugs. All the while the sounds of screaming will be heard off screen. A cross cut will then occur and will cut back to the closed door which will the open and a lady who is known as Red, wearing a suit and tie will walk out. There will be a close up on her face as she lights a cigarette and scans the other workers. We will then see a long shot as she walks out of the warehouse, followed by a fade to black. There will then be a short montage a young girl getting ready in the morning; the audience will assume that she is getting ready for work. There will be different types of shots and camera angles in this montage, such as bird’s eye view, dolly and POV. The montage will be having fast pace cuts which will assume she is getting ready in a rush. The young girl will then leave her house and this will be filmed in a long distance shot of her walking towards the camera. There will be extreme close up on her feet as she walks. Throughout this small montage there will be high tempo depressing non diegetic music connoting that she has started her day off in a sad way, this music will also represent her area and the mise en scene.

There will then be a medium close-up shot of her walking through the same door the lady in the suit exited from. We will then shoot the girl, who is known as rookie, at a medium close up at her side angle. There will be a cross cut to the other girls working in a medium long shot. There will then be a close up of each of the girls face as they turn to look at Rookie. There will be another cross cut back to Rookie at a close up of her face. She will be wearing a nervous expression. We will the make a straight cut back to a long shot of her at eye level, where she will look down nervously and slowly make her way to her designated working area. We will track Rookie as she walks to her seat, there will be an extreme close-up on her hand as she pulls her chair forward, and then it will cross cut back to a medium long shot as she sits down. Rookie will look at her watch on her wrist which will say the time, 9:00am; there will be an extreme close up on the time being shown on the watch. We will then see a long shot of all the girls working in unison, connoting that they are working like robots which will, as a result, reinforce the theme of child exploitation and child labour. There will be a cross cut to Red sitting in her work office. There will be a long shot which will allow the audience to take in the mise en scene.

We will then make a straight cut and show Reds face at a side angle as she works on the computer. We will then pan downwards, towards the desk she is working on and show her money, papers, and drugs on the table. We will then shoot an extreme close up of Reds hand which has an unnecessary amount of jewellery on it, suggesting that she is incredibly wealthy. There will be a graphic match shot, which will cross cut back to and extreme close up of Rookies hand, which has no jewellery suggesting she is not wealthy. There will be diegetic sounds on screen and off screen of the other working girls talking amongst themselves. We will then shoot to an extreme close up of Rookie eyes looking around hesitantly as if checking if anyone is paying attention to her.

Non diegetic suspenseful music will begin to play, and these sounds will reflect the emotions of Rookie. Then there will be a close up of her hand as she slips a small packet of drugs up her sleeve. This short montage will have different camera angles as it will shoot Rookie in different angel. For example, as rookie is reaching for the drugs her hands will tremble. There will be an extreme close up of her throat as she swallows nervously. We will then cut back quickly to Rookies eyes as she looks around suspiciously. Once Rookie has slipped the drugs in her sleeve the scene will become silent as she looks around waiting to be caught. She will smile after a few seconds assuming that she has gotten away with this crime. The screen will the cross cut to a computer where there will be an image of rookie smiling and continuing to work. We will slowly zoom out and show an amused looking Red watching her. There will be a close up on her sinister smile, connoting her evilness. Red will lean back in her chair, and pick up her phone. We will shoot an extreme close up shot of her phone as she flicks through her contacts. When red places her call she will pull the phone towards her ear and this will be shot at a medium long shot, at eye level directly in front of her. On screen diegetic sounds of the phone ringing shall be heard, along with the other diegetic natural sounds. There will be a close up on Reds lips as she says something to the person on the other line. The screen will cross cut back to rookie chatting to the other girls. The scene will be an over shoulder shot of rookie as she speaks to the other girls. There will be an off screen diegetic sound of someone coming in through the ware house door. The scene will go quiet and rookie will turn towards the door, resulting in an extreme close up of her face. We will cut to the person who walked through the door. There will be an extreme close up of the man’s shoes and then we will make the camera pan upwards till we reach the man’s face with a huge grin on it. We will then cut back to the other girls at a long shot, showing all the girls apart from Rookie standing up. There will be a close up on rookies face as she looks around and then quickly tries to copy the other girls. The man will take long strides towards the girls. We will have close ups of his feet at the side angle as he walks, and his wrist, and his suit. We will then cut back to the girls who are all now standing in line will cut to rookie as she slyly looks at the other girls and then back at the man. The man will move towards the girls and we will make the camera track him as he walks. He will then ask each girl to empty their pockets. Throughout this, we will shoot the girls at different angels. When the man reaches rookie, we will shoot this as an over shoulder shot, where the camera will be directed at rookie. Rookie will pass this checking and will feel even more relieved. The girls will sit back down and continue talking among themselves.

The screen will fade out then back in suggesting that some time has passed. Red will walk in and this will be a medium long shot of her as she walks towards the camera. We will cut to the back of reds body as she continues to walk towards rookie. We will then cut to her face as she smiles and looks at rookie. We will make the camera pan to rookie as she gulps nervously. Red will tell rookie that she has done a good job and will be released from work early. Rookie will be happy with his news. We will cut to a close up of her face as she looks down at the drugs in her pocket, the audience will assume that rookie has gotten away with stealing. The screen will fade out then fade back in to a shot of rookie walking down a lonely road. We will track her as she walks down. There will non diegetic suspenseful music playing at this point suggesting that something may occur. A suspicious looking van will pull up beside Rookie. The will be seen at a long shot of the van driving up. We will then cut back a close up of rookies face as she seems suspicious. The van will come to a halt beside rookie. We will focus on rookies face as she realise she’s is trouble and begins to run. There will be off screen digetic noises of a van door opening and someone running out. There will be a P.O.V shot as A bag will go over rookies head causing the screen to go black, There will be off screen muffled noises of rookie trying to fight back and call for help. The sound of a van door being closed and then driving off will be heard. Everything will go silent. The screen will then come back to another P.O.V shot as Rookie wakes up. The screen will be blurry insinuating that Rookie is disorientated. Reds face will become clear as Rookie blinks. There will be an extreme close up on rookie’s eyes as she blinks. There will be a long shot which will show rookie tied to a chair a man standing behind her and red in front of her. We will cut to and eye level shot of Reds face as she says something rookie. There will be a close up of Reds smiling face as she looks up at the man, who will also be smiling. We will then cut rookie as she beings screaming for help. Red will chuckle and then turn towards a door. we will shoot the back of red as she opens the door, while off screen digetic sounds of rookie screaming will be heard.  We will then shoot a continuity shot as red exists the Room. There will be a close up on her face as she lights a cigarette and scans the other workers. We will then see a long shot as she walks out of the warehouse, followed by a fade to black

The majority of this short film will be filmed in Low key lighting as this will allow a more thrilling atmosphere to be created. However in particular scene such as the montage in the morning the film will be shot in High Key lighting. Extra lighting will be used when required or if required, For example, if the top lights do not give off the atmosphere we wish to achieve we will use our own resources to create a better lighting.  Appropriate Non diegetic soundtracks will be used to create the mood for particular scene such as the kidnapping and the montage. We will want our audience to feel connected to the characters therefore we will use the types of music that is popular. Our editing will mostly be straight cuts. However we will also be using graphic matches etc.
